5 Ways to Eliminate Procrastination

1. Make Bite Sized Chunks

The biggest reason we procrastinate is that the task is too large or it is new to us and it seems overwhelming. One big task seems a mammoth to tackle, so a simple solution to make it easier on the mind is to break it down into bite sized chunks.

IF you have one big task which will take 3 hours it may seem like a chore to start, but break that project up into 6 30 minute bite sized chunks and before you know it you can do two of the 6 chunks and you are on a roll. Once you get started and make some progress then it has a feel good factor and a psychological effect of making you want to do more.

Suddenly this big mammoth task seems much more reasonable and very manageable. The trick is to simply concentrate on one chunk at a time, get it done and then move on to the next.

2. Plan It Out

Planning is another one of the real, genuine keys to success. Just like the mammoth task is hard to start, a task without a plan can be overwhelming too.

You first need to look at the task and create a breakdown. Second you need to create a detailed timeline with quite specific deadlines. This will map out exactly what needs to be done and when, in order to complete the task. Again, it becomes more manageable and you know exactly what to do and when.

Creating a plan and a timeline creates the urgency to act – when you know you have to do a task before this afternoon it puts pressure on you to act. Planning eliminates procrastination by stimulating action.

3. Make Yourself Accountable

Tell other people about your goals and your plans. This makes you more accountable outside of your own desires. This helps inspire you to work, and makes you want to live up to other people’s expectations.

When you know that other people know about your plans you don’t want to let them down or be seen to give up in their eyes. It is easy to procrastinate or ignore a task when you only have yourself to report to, but when other people are involved it adds extra pressure, a different element and motivates you to take action.This is where a life coach can come in handy. A life coach helps you plan out your goals, make bite sized pieces out of them, create a timeline and then help you be accountable. You can also possibly add extra power here by starting a competition with your friend or accountability partner. Challenge them to pursue a goal too, and race either other to completion, or simply hold each other accountable. This changes the task too – it’s not just a boring task you have to complete, it is more fun, a shared experiment and some friendly healthy competition to spur you on.

4. Change your Environment

Just a simple change of work space can help you to increase your productivity. When you work from the same place over and over bad habits can creep up on you.  Laziness and procrastination are just a few of them. If you just mix it up a little bit it can really stimulate your mind and help you to just do what you are meant to be doing without procrastinating.

Try working from a cafe if you never have before. Just go there with the mindset that for just one hour you are going to keep your head down and work on your tasks. A new setting like this really can do wonders to blow away the last vestiges of procrastination.

5. Get a Good Start

Something really simple you can do to make sure you make progress is to simply start. Sit down at your desk and write something, even if it’s just the introduction. If it is a report you need to do then just write the opening paragraph. If it is the ironing you have to do then just setup the ironing board and iron 1 shirt. Before you know it you’ll have the whole pile done.

Simply getting started helps your mindset, it stops you from thinking negatively and just gets you into a productive state of mind before you have chance to hesitate.

Why finding your passion is essential to living a happy life



Working online isn’t just about making money online, it is about finding yourself, your passions and your joys. For the past month I have ran into a road block of sorts, a roadblock in my mind. It has really stumped me and caused me to stop making progress in my online business. I sat down and meditated about it and found out that I was not focusing on my passion. I was so focused on making money that I forgot about my passion.

Just trying to make money actually made me unable to focus on making money…kind of a paradox. Without passion you kind of run out of steam so to speak. You lose your momentum and lose your focus. I felt lost and just had to force myself to do anything. There was no “passion”.But I digress…the post is supposed to be about how finding our passion is essential to living a happy life.

Laird Hamilton said

“The risk that you take in not pursuing your dream is terminal. It is the end. It’s a life without fulfillment, it’s a life without accomplishment, it’s a life without contentment, and it’s a life without joy. It’s misery.”

So no matter what you do, no matter what you accomplish materially in life, if you don’t do the things that make your heart sing you will feel a sense of dissatisfaction and regret in life.

I totally believe that we can all make money online by following our passions. The key being that we are following our passion, not just trying to make money. The internet is the place where we can showcase our passions and find ways to make money doing them. There are ton’s of ways.

I’ve been a bit remiss-but I shall repent-and talk about meditation

I do say I have been a bit remiss in my writing duties to my children. I got side-tracked into the world of trying to make money. Notice I said trying….It has been a struggle with which I am almost successful. So I have decided to take the time to write something and then I shall have to take the time to get the children to actually read it….


Today I wish to teach you about meditation. I personally suffer from a huge problem with focus and stick-to-it-ness. Every few days I remember all the things I have learned and then I do my best to do the things I know I should….uggh.

This morning I rediscovered the power of meditation. There once was a time when I meditated every day because I couldn’t function without it…it was a very trying time in my life. Since then things have gotten better and my practice has slipped. This morning I rededicated myself and this is what I have learned.

Every human being on the face of this planet can benefit from the power of meditation. It gets you in tune with the real you inside. It gets you in tune with “God”, the “universe” or whatever is out there. I can feel it’s power and love and glory and it really helps me to be able to focus. I can do the things I know I am supposed to do when I have first meditated. It brings such a clarity to life, such a focus.

Meditation is also a part of the creation process. It is in those quiet moments of our minds that we start to create. If we can daily bring our focus on what we desire to have in our lives we shall eventually discover that it is there.  A normal life, lived in the normal hap-hazardous way brings about rather hap-hazardous results. I know, that is what I have thus far created.

So if you wish to create a wonderful life you must first start with getting clear on what you want and then begin a daily meditation practice.


Since I am not an expert on the technical how to’s of meditating I have found some information that might be helpful.


How to meditate

  1. First, find a comfortable place where you can sit without distractions for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Sit comfortably with your back upright and without back support, if physically possible.
  3. Close your eyes and focus within.
  4. Focus your attention.
    • You can focus your attention on your breath and breathing. Breathe in and out. Just watch the movement of your in and out breaths.
    • You can repeat an affirmation (a positive statement about yourself and life).
    • If you use an affirmation, try to feel what it means to you.
    • You can focus on your heartbeat.
    • You can use any other method with which you feel comfortable.
  5. If you notice your mind thinking, that’s okay, just bring your focus back to your technique.
  6. When you have completed meditating, it is a good idea to give yourself a few minutes to acclimate slowly back into the activities of your day.

Meditation Tips for Beginners and Advanced Meditators Alike

  1. The most important advice is to meditate regularly, which means daily. The commitment to a regular, daily practice is more important than any method or technique.
  2. If you are a beginning meditator, even 15 minutes daily is enough to start.
  3. High-Tech Meditation soundtracks are created in 30-minute segments so that you can meditate for 30–60 minutes in a single session. If you can meditate more than once a day, even better.
  4. Brief balancing exercises are also beneficial and are a way to maintain your balance throughout the day. We will discuss this again under “Balance Breaks” below.
  5. Make sure you choose a time of day that you will not be disturbed. Most people choose early in the morning or late at night. But it really does not matter when you meditate, as long as you can devote a period of time to your practice without being disturbed. Each of us has a unique bio-rhythm and we know what times are likely to be best for us.
  6. If possible, create a space where you can practice your meditation and which you use for nothing else. This could be a spare room or a section of a room.
  7. It is also best to meditate at the same time every day.

These tips will assist you in generating momentum. Treat your meditation as a sacred act because it is! If you revere it, the results will be even more impressive.

Meditation generates a lot of power from within. This power, in turn, affects the world around you. So be wakeful and watch the magic and miracles unfold.


I can attest to the fact that meditation helps with the whole happiness factor as well as with our creation factor….there will be more on this later….I am dedicated to writing more….and working less…lol. My Ticket to Freedom

What is Freedom?

I believe that freedom means different things for different people, thought we often have a lot of the same basic ideas. So for the sake of this blog I am going to focus on what it means to me.  There are 3 basic things that I feel I must have in order to be free. This may be age old but it still applies to me…Freedom is doing what you want, with whom you want, when you want! Let me explain…..

Freedom is doing what you want

So for me doing what I want would include the following…..I home school my children and with the freedom to do what I want I would be able to take more time with them, go more places with them. I would totally be traveling to places when we studied about them…ok maybe not ALL the places but major places. I would be able to further pursue my gardening, greenhouse, aquaponics, homesteading, permaculture and sustainability interests. I also love to travel and have high hopes of being able to see the world, real soon!I do not like being accountable to someone else in order to earn a living and a low one at that…..being trapped day after day after day with only peanuts to show for it is @#$*%. This has to end! I need my Freedom.

That one is pretty easy….I want to be with my children and grandchildren and some day I hope to find a nice partner with whom I can spend my new found time. Now since my children are in 2 different states at this point in time I am currently finding it difficult to visit. The last time I say my granddaughter she was 2 weeks old…look at her now!


Do you think I missed a little time!!!!

Freedom is doing things when you want to do them!

The keyword here being WHEN, of course….I want to be able to see my children and grandchildren before they are full grown. I want to travel the world while I still have the ability to see it, feel it, engage it. I want to do what I want to do and I want to do it NOW!

So tiny bit of background on me and my situation….I am currently a single mother of 7 children, 5 of which still live with me along with my 18 month old grandson. 2 sons live in Utah, one on his own with his wife and daughter (see above) and the other lives with his dad, by his choice, he is 16.

My 3 daughters work at night delivering newspapers to make enough money to be able to pay the bills. I am working at internet marketing in order to try to get free from this highly stressful, totally limiting, going absolutely nowhere, dead end job. Everyone I know tells us to get a “real” job. They do not understand MLM or even internet marketing at all and think I am wasting my time. But I have faith! I understand there is learning curve and I work at this stuff all day long…between interruptions from my grandson.


So I find myself in position where I need to earn some money in order to spend some money….an amount that my daughters and I cannot make with our current occupation….for those of you with Empower Network you will know what I mean when I say I need to “Get all In”….If you do not know what I am talking about you will want to click on this link: FREEDOM! and join us on our journey.

We are Powerful!

We are Powerful!

People are wonderful, awesome and amazing! Have you ever noticed that? Did you ever stop and realize that the human being is just so cool? Look at the way our bodies function. We feed them junk food over and over again and they keep on functioning, thought not as well as if they were fed wholesome food. Our bodies heal themselves. Our bodies have air-conditioning units, heating units, elimination systems, on-board computers, audio and video components, and much much more. We are amazing. Hands down, bar none..amazing.


Our thoughts are Powerful!

Our thoughts create our reality. How powerful is that? If we chose to think positive uplifting thoughts our reality becomes positive. Our life starts to change for the better. Things look brighter. The bills become less burdensome, the flat tire is more manageable, and the 1/2 gallon of water that your grandson spilled on the floor becomes less of a disaster. Our positive thoughts start making good things appear in our lives. The new (meaning new to me 🙂  ) dryer that we need suddenly gets found for a reasonable price. The boards you need for a repair appear on craigslist in the free section. The couch that you have been needing, and living without, also appears at a super low price. Life starts to fall into place, the “good” starts out weighing the “bad”.

Our words are Powerful!

We inspire other people with our words! Just listen to other people! What they say can either inspire you in a good way or bring you down…either way the words are powerful. I think it goes without saying that we need to watch who we listen to, we need to pick awesome people to listen too! If we listen to uplifting audios and videos everyday we can have a powerful impact on our own lives. These audios go into our sub-consciousness and help reprogram our thinking. They help us create the kind of life we want to live. Become the kind of people we want to become. Pick powerful people to be in your life. If you are around negative people all the time, what do you think you will be thinking? If you want an awesome powerful life you must pick awesome powerful people to hang around. People who will lift you up and inspire you. People who will over look your weaknesses and focus on your strengths.

We also need to watch how we talk. Every day we can either be an asset or a detriment in other people’s lives. Watch what you say…and how you say it. Use powerful uplifting words. This not only helps us, it helps others. We have the power to assist others in their creations, just by being the awesome people that we are and setting a great example. I can’t wait to assist others in making their lives awesome. I look forward to working with some truly amazing, powerful people in the months to come.
